Why the move to ABC matters
CBS had carried the Grammys for decades. The 2027 ceremony moves to ABC, Disney+ and Hulu under a new agreement announced at Disney’s upfront presentation.
Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. described it as “a new home and a bold new chapter” for the awards (The Hollywood Reporter).
The last ABC Grammy broadcast was in 1972, which makes the gap 55 years.
