Accuracy of calendar information

Datescal verifies each date against a primary or authoritative source before publication, as described on the About Datescal page.

Verification reflects the source as it stood on the date it was checked. Datescal cannot guarantee that a date remains correct after that point.

Academic and school calendars

University and school district calendars are revised after publication. Common causes include weather closures, board votes, labor agreements, and emergency schedule changes.

Each Datescal academic or district page states when its source was last checked.

When a Datescal page and the institution’s calendar disagree, the institution’s calendar is correct.

Registration, add/drop, tuition, and financial aid deadlines should always be confirmed with the registrar or school office.

Times and time zones

Times for astronomical events, such as equinoxes, solstices, and moon phases, are stated in the time zone named on each page.

The same event can fall on a different calendar date in another time zone. Convert the time to your local zone before relying on it.

Moveable observances and holidays

Some observances follow a rule rather than a fixed date, such as “the fourth Thursday of November.”

Others depend on lunar calendars or official announcements, and their observed dates can differ by country or community.

Where a date depends on an announcement that has not yet been made, Datescal pages say so.

Nothing on Datescal is legal, financial, tax, medical, or academic advice.
