Coachella 2027: Dates, Weekends, Lineup and Tickets

Coachella 2027 runs over two weekends: Friday, April 9, to Sunday, April 11, and Friday, April 16, to Sunday, April 18, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. The lineup has not been announced yet.

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, known simply as Coachella, is a music and arts festival held each April in the Colorado Desert of Southern California.

The 2027 dates are Friday to Sunday, April 9 to 11 (Weekend 1), and Friday to Sunday, April 16 to 18 (Weekend 2), according to Consequence, NME and Radio X.

Both weekends have the same lineup. The organiser, Goldenvoice, put advance passes on sale on Friday, May 1, 2026, nearly a year before the festival and before any artist was named. As of Tuesday, October 6, 2026, the 2027 lineup has still not been published.

That leaves two questions people search for most: when Coachella is, and when the lineup comes out.

This page answers both, with the Weekend 1 and Weekend 2 dates, ticket prices, past dates and lineup release dates since 2018, the weather to expect in Indio in mid-April, and festival times converted to your time zone.

When is Coachella 2027?

Coachella 2027 takes place on two consecutive weekends in April 2027. All festival times are Pacific Daylight Time (PDT, UTC−7), because California moves its clocks forward on Sunday, March 14, 2027, nearly four weeks before the festival.

The festival repeats its full program on both weekends, so the choice between them comes down to price and travel. Weekend 1 passes cost $50 more than the matching Weekend 2 passes at every tier, according to Consequence and That Eric Alper.

The week after Coachella, the same venue hosts Stagecoach, Goldenvoice’s country music festival. Stagecoach 2027 runs from Friday, April 23, to Sunday, April 25, 2027, according to Pollstar and Stereoboard. That gives the Empire Polo Club three festival weekends in a row.

How Coachella dates are chosen

Unlike Oktoberfest or a public holiday, Coachella has no published date rule. Goldenvoice announces each year’s dates, usually about a year ahead.

In practice, the festival has settled into a clear pattern: Weekend 1 has started on a Friday between April 9 and April 15 every year since at least 2017, and Weekend 2 follows seven days later.

Dates and headliners come from Wikipedia’s edition pages for 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026, and the main Coachella festival article. Anyma also headlined Friday in 2026; in 2022 Swedish House Mafia and The Weeknd replaced Kanye West shortly before the festival, and in 2023 Blink-182 replaced Frank Ocean on the second Sunday.

If the pattern holds, Coachella 2028 would fall on Friday, April 14, to Sunday, April 16, and Friday, April 21, to Sunday, April 23, 2028. That is a Datescal projection from past years, not an announced date. Goldenvoice announced the 2027 dates in April 2026, around the end of the 2026 festival, so the 2028 dates are most likely to appear in April 2027.

When will the Coachella 2027 lineup be announced?

There is no fixed lineup day, and the release has moved earlier in recent years. From 2019 to 2024, the lineup came out in early or mid-January, only three months before the festival. The 2025 lineup arrived in November 2024.

The 2026 lineup came out on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, seven months ahead, according to Spectrum News and Consequence. After that early release, both weekends of Coachella 2026 sold out within about a week, according to Wikipedia and TheWrap.

The 2027 lineup has already missed the 2025 timing. Based on recent years, the most likely window is October 2026 to mid-January 2027. Mid-January would match the older pattern; an autumn release would match the last two years.

Rumoured Coachella 2027 headliners

On September 1, 2026, the industry publication Hits Daily Double reported that Tame Impala and Dua Lipa were expected to headline, with Fred again.. in a prominent slot and BTS, SZA, Oasis and Radiohead among the artists being pursued for the final headliner spot, as summarised by Consequence and Stereogum. Goldenvoice has not confirmed any of these names. Treat them as rumours until the official poster appears.

Coachella 2027 tickets and prices

Advance passes for Coachella 2027 went on sale on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 11 a.m. PDT (2 p.m. EDT, 7 p.m. BST), according to HollywoodLife, NME and Radio X. The sale ran before any artist was announced. Consequence reports the following prices, which include service fees:

PassWeekend 1Weekend 2
General Admission, Tier 1$599$549
General Admission, Tier 2$649$599
General Admission, Tier 3$699$649
VIP, Tier 1$1,299$1,249
VIP, Tier 2$1,399$1,349

Prices rise as each tier sells out. Shuttle passes, car camping, tent camping and parking are sold separately, and a payment plan lets buyers pay $49 at checkout and spread the balance in instalments through January 2027, according to Radio X and That Eric Alper.

Consequence reports that the advance passes sold out within hours, so passes are now available mainly through resale, including AXS Official Resale. Buy through the festival’s own links rather than unofficial sellers.

Where is Coachella held?

Coachella is held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, not in the City of Coachella. The polo grounds cover 78 acres, and with parking and camping, the festival site covers about 642 acres, according to Wikipedia.

The festival is named after the Coachella Valley, the desert valley in Riverside County that holds Indio, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and the City of Coachella.

The City of Coachella is a separate city of 41,941 people (2020 census), the easternmost city in the valley. The origin of the name is unclear: Wikipedia notes that some locals believe it is a misspelling of conchilla, Spanish for the small white snail shells found in the valley’s sandy soil.

Coachella weather in April

Indio is in the Colorado Desert, and mid-April days are already hot. According to Wikipedia’s climate table for Indio, using 1991 to 2020 normals, April averages a daily high of 85.8°F (29.9°C) and a daily low of 63.1°F (17.3°C).

The record April high is 110°F (43°C), and the record April low is 33°F (1°C). In practice, that means sunburn and dehydration in the afternoon, and a sharp drop in temperature after dark.

Wind is the other risk. In 2026, severe weather forced the cancellation of Anyma’s Weekend 1 headline set, according to Wikipedia; he later played a surprise set. Bring layers for the evening, sunscreen, and something to cover your face if dust blows across the polo fields.

Coachella times in your time zone

Coachella has streamed sets on YouTube in recent years; Beyoncé’s 2018 set drew 458,000 simultaneous viewers, the festival’s most-watched stream, according to Wikipedia. All set times are announced in PDT. As an example, a set starting at 9:00 p.m. PDT on Friday, April 9, 2027, converts as follows:

LocationLocal time of a 9 p.m. PDT Friday set
Indio, Los Angeles (PDT)9:00 p.m., Friday, April 9
Chicago (CDT)11:00 p.m., Friday, April 9
Mexico City (CST)10:00 p.m., Friday, April 9
New York (EDT)12:00 midnight, Friday night into Saturday, April 10
UTC4:00 a.m., Saturday, April 10
São Paulo (BRT)1:00 a.m., Saturday, April 10
London (BST)5:00 a.m., Saturday, April 10
Paris, Berlin (CEST)6:00 a.m., Saturday, April 10
Lagos (WAT)5:00 a.m., Saturday, April 10
New Delhi (IST)9:30 a.m., Saturday, April 10
Manila, Beijing (PHT, CST)12:00 noon, Saturday, April 10
Seoul (KST)1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 10
Sydney (AEST)2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 10

Times are converted with the IANA time zone database. Mexico City stays on standard time all year since Mexico dropped daylight saving time in 2022, so it is only one hour ahead of Indio in April. For viewers in Asia and Australia, Friday night at Coachella is Saturday daytime.

A short history of Coachella

The first Coachella was held on Saturday and Sunday, October 9 and 10, 1999, at the Empire Polo Club. There was no festival in 2000. When it returned in 2001, it moved to April, an attempt to “beat the heat” of the desert autumn, according to Wikipedia, and it has been an April festival ever since. Goldenvoice, a subsidiary of AEG Presents, organises it.

The festival added a second weekend in 2012 to meet demand. In 2016 the Indio City Council raised the attendance cap to 125,000 people per weekend, and by 2017 the festival drew 250,000 attendees over both weekends.

That year it grossed $114.6 million, the first time a recurring festival had grossed more than $100 million, according to Wikipedia. The 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the festival returned in April 2022.

Some of the best-known sets have become search topics of their own. In 2018, Beyoncé became the first African-American woman to headline Coachella, a set fans nicknamed “Beychella”. In 2026, Karol G became the first Latina artist to headline, and Bini became the first Filipino group to perform.

Coachella also sits inside the spring calendar. The whole 2027 festival falls within Aries season 2027, which ends on Monday, April 19, Eastern Time, the day after Weekend 2.

The Pink Moon 2027, April’s full moon, is full at 3:27 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, April 20, so the Weekend 2 nights have a bright, waxing moon over the desert.
